CloseEstablished in 2001, First Element has developed a reputation as the pre-eminent supplier of luxury hardwood timber flooring around Australia. First Element source only the finest hardwood from around the world in the creation of exceptional hardwood floors with an emphasis on design and sustainability. As the exclusive Australian supplier of Listone Giordano, Italy’s oldest and largest manufacturer of hardwood timber flooring, we’re committed to uncompromising quality and European craftsmanship.
We value transparency around the provenance of raw materials, all our hardwood comes from sustainably managed plantations certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of the Forest Council (PEFC).
A cultivated forest offers society a multitude of benefits. Oak has a slow life cycle, however forests, when managed by man, can actually provide us with more oxygen. For every cubic metre of wood it makes, a tree it will absorb up to a ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and replenish it with 700 kilograms of oxygen. This process diminishes in intensity over the course of the trees life cycle, which is why it's important to constantly renew the forest in a responsible way. Sustainably managed hardwood plantations have a positive impact on our environment in the fight against climate change, making it a zero impact product.
